Only in the dark

Collection Only in the dark encompasses themes of jazz photography based on recording live music, where the most important factors for the artist were the available light, the atmosphere of the stage, and the musical personality – ultimately presented in the photograph. Black-and-white photographs reach into the deepest spheres of shadow, revealing key, bright spots. Color photographs capture the atmosphere of analog photography. Saturated with grain, they build mood, sometimes bringing the image closer to abstraction. Other times, they enhance expression and visible emotion, accompanying strong color contrasts.
